For a low cost Fathers Day treat we tried the Winding House Tea Rooms, next to the Cliff Railway in Bridgnorth.

It's a small, quaint cafe with steep winding stairs so unfortunately no disabled access and a bit of a struggle for prams.

However the food was of a very good quality. We had the all day breakfast for £4.95 and the children had cheese on toast and a sausage sandwich.

The sausages and eggs are sourced locally and I felt there was a very good choice for children.

There's an upstairs, downstairs and an outdoor terrace all with great views over the river and beyond. The best bit was the windows

through into the inner workings of the Cliff Railway. The children loved watching the pulley systems and the engineer tinkering away inside.

So we got a few peaceful moments to enjoy the views and imagine living in this

tiny Victorian house with the constant rumble of the Cliff Railway next door. Lovely!

Be aware: the Cliff Railway doesn't start until 12 on a Sunday so if you go to the cafe before that you won't get to see it working.
