It’s all happening with the Beaver and Brownie packs in the area. Very sadly the Brownie pack in Alveley had to close down before the half term holidays due to lack of numbers. However the Brownie leader, Gemma Brown, is now helping out at 2nd Bridgnorth Brownies, and is training to stand in when the current leader, Sally Hobday, goes on maternity leave.
Even better news is that a new Bridgnorth Beaver colony starts today at the scout hut in Bridgnorth. Local mum, Lynne Andreae, has stepped in to become the 2nd Bridgnorth Beaver leader. “I have had to do loads of training and get all the right checks done” comments Lynne. “I have done my plan for the year and so now everything is in place for me to start tonight with my little beaver colony of 14 boys”.
The fact that Lynne has volunteered her services is brilliant news for local families, especially those with boys. The demand for places has been growing and growing but with only one Beaver pack in the town up until now the demand just could not be met. It’s a big committment taking on such a role especially as it is entirely voluntary. Well done Lynne, we wish you and your 'colony' every success.
