Home-Start is running a project to provide a small amount of funding towards a Short Break for 55 children/young people by 31st March 2012. This could be a break either with their family or it could pay for time away from their primary carer. The definition of a Short Break is anything from a few hours to a few days dependant on the needs of the child and their family.

The project offers an amount of money to families to enable them to spend quality time to do something which they would not normally be able to do as a family. Home-Start can also provide 1:1 support to help with planning activities. Each day trip can be awarded up to £100 per family and each Short Break up to £175 per family. This project is being delivered by Home-Start North Shropshire & Oswestry and is available to children and young people across all of Shropshire. They are currently working with other Home-Start schemes and Autism West Midlands but can take referrals from anyone that approaches them. For further information please contact:
